Future Legend or Just a Phase? Nicki Minaj Video Premiere: You Love
Jul 21, 2010 Featured, What's Goin On?
I must say I gave Ms. Nicki (Nik) a hard time when she first hit the main stream but for the record I am now #TeamNickiMinaj. She hasn’t been officially inducted into my “Winners Circle” (future blog post coming soon) but if she keeps it up, she’ll be on her way. I’ve always been attracted to individuals who dare to be different. My attraction to who go against the grain goes across all facets of life but the trait of ‘creativi-ndividuality seems to be intensified and ever more alluring in the lane of artistry. Nik is definitely carving her place in the industry as an ‘Artist’ not just an average female rapper…I DIG! I even love how she, like a few other phenomenal music artist, embodies their music when performing it. It’s simple things like, engaging facial expressions, and body movements that conveys how deep music runs in your veins. I know only three other artists, that I consider legends, that have mastered the music game by master branding themselves: Beyonce, MJ and Usher. They are the only the artist I know that have successfully created artist signatures. For example, all three of them have signature stances that makes spectators feel as if the room is moving while they stand still. You can look at any performances of Mj, Bey and Usher and you will catch them at one point intently standing still while managing to let power ooze from their pores. You probably haven’t studies them that much but it doesn’t take away from it having an impact on you..lol.
Nik is on this same path. She has already created her own mini signature moves and has taken a style that was successful in the past, added her own flare to it and unlike a few of her predecessors, chick is rhyming without being over saturated with sexual content and innuendo. Why hate? Speaking of a style from the past, it’s now secret that she was inspired by Kim and I wish so bad that they could have gotten along enough to collab on a track together. However, when greatness is seeking is place to plant and grow people either embrace or hate it. I do understand why Kim is angry but I think she could have taken a higher road and embraced Nik’s presence on the scene. Honestly, I think that beef really lie with Diddy and him recreating a Biggie and Kim connection with Nik and Ross. Nevertheless, if Nik don’t let up, in my opinion, she will have the beginnings of greatness all over her.
Once she gives us a platinum album, demonstrate longevity and become a household name of the world, I will gladly welcome her into my “Winners Circle”. Actually, I’m preparing for her induction ceremony because I think it’s a matter of time..lol but that’s just my two scents. State your thoughts droppers and check out her new video bellow.
Besides the cheesy cry from Michael J White I’m digging the whole concept, look and feel of the video.

Firstly, I would like to thank everybody that supported me in the pursuit of my dream! You guys were so encouraging and really kept me motivated. Assuming you are aware I participated in the online portion of Oprah’s next talk show host search, I will talk about my experience attending the open casting call on June 26th. Because the online portion of the contest requires contestants to get almost a million votes to be considered as a finalist, I decided to audition in person. The audition took place in Roswell, GA, right outside of Atlanta and 6 hours away from my current location. When it comes to my dream the distance of travel mattered least to me. Besides seizing the opportunity, I’m so happy I decided to drive there because I was able to meet so many different people who were great in their own right and shared the same passion for helping others. From the moment I stood in line (that was miles long) the people I encountered were so warm, charismatic, charming, articulate and eager for their chance to show the casting directors what they had to offer.

URGENT: HAITI NEEDS US
Jan 13, 2010 Featured, What's Goin On?
As a survivor and first hand witness of Hurricane Katrina, I know how very important it is to aid in the time of need. Haiti has experienced one of the most catastrophic events in our history and my heart goes out to them. There are an estimated 100,000 lives taken as a result of this occurrence. I am asking all of my Droppers to make some type of contribution to help the people of Haiti and their families. Below are a few ways to make a contribution:

WILLOW SMITH: SWAGGER JACKIN?!
Dec 12, 2009 Featured, What's Goin On?
From pop icon to fashion diva, Rihanna’s style has influenced everyone from mothers to daughters. I guess in the Smith’s household mother Jada Smith missed the fashion bug and it went straight to little Willow Smith who is also the daughter of actor Will Smith. According to yahoo.com movie talk the 9-year-old appeared at the Peace Prize Concert — which the Smiths were hosting — with a haircut similar to Rihanna’s: sides shaved, top worn long, flat, and swept to the side of her face.
