If you haven’t heard yet, you must have been sleeping for the last few days. Whether it’s a revelation, epiphany, hoax or just something to do Wyclef Jean is running to become Haiti’s next President. According to online news paper the Guardian.co.uk the Haitian-born rap star who became one of the world’s most
popular hip-hop artists, will run for president in the country’s November elections.
Shocker right? But before you assume that his motives aren’t in the right place read what he had to say about his reasoning for pursuing the presidential office.
The Guardian reported Wyclef saying:
CHRIS BROWN TEACHES US HOW TO DOUGIE!
Aug 10, 2010 Featured
When I first heard the song by Cali Swag “Teach me How Dougie” I was like what how do you make a song about a dance that has been out for years now? Then after hearing it a few times, I started dougiing like never before..lol. It does help that my little brother looks like a distant member of the group..lol Then oddly my lil bro is always told that he looks a lot like Chris Brown. Now merging the two, Cali Swag district with Chris Brown and get Chris Brown teaching ATL how to
Dougie at club Echelon 3000. There’s no particular reason I felt the need to share this other than that fact I find myself dougieing every 30mins and I think I’m better than Chris Brown..what do you think?!
Future Legend or Just a Phase? Nicki Minaj Video Premiere: You Love
Jul 21, 2010 Featured, What's Goin On?
I must say I gave Ms. Nicki (Nik) a hard time when she first hit the main stream but for the record I am now #TeamNickiMinaj. She hasn’t been officially inducted into my “Winners Circle” (future blog post coming soon) but if she keeps it up, she’ll be on her way. I’ve always been attracted to individuals who dare to be different. My attraction to who go against the grain goes across all facets of life but the trait of ‘creativi-ndividuality seems to be intensified and ever more alluring in the lane of artistry. Nik is definitely carving her place in the industry as an ‘Artist’ not just an average female rapper…I DIG! I even love how she, like a few other phenomenal music artist, embodies their music when performing it. It’s simple things like, engaging facial expressions, and body movements that conveys how deep music runs in your veins. I know only three other artists, that I consider legends, that have mastered the music game by master branding themselves: Beyonce, MJ and Usher. They are the only the artist I know that have successfully created artist signatures. For example, all three of them have signature stances that makes spectators feel as if the room is moving while they stand still. You can look at any performances of Mj, Bey and Usher and you will catch them at one point intently standing still while managing to let power ooze from their pores. You probably haven’t studies them that much but it doesn’t take away from it having an impact on you..lol.
Nik is on this same path. She has already created her own mini signature moves and has taken a style that was successful in the past, added her own flare to it and unlike a few of her predecessors, chick is rhyming without being over saturated with sexual content and innuendo. Why hate? Speaking of a style from the past, it’s now secret that she was inspired by Kim and I wish so bad that they could have gotten along enough to collab on a track together. However, when greatness is seeking is place to plant and grow people either embrace or hate it. I do understand why Kim is angry but I think she could have taken a higher road and embraced Nik’s presence on the scene. Honestly, I think that beef really lie with Diddy and him recreating a Biggie and Kim connection with Nik and Ross. Nevertheless, if Nik don’t let up, in my opinion, she will have the beginnings of greatness all over her.
Once she gives us a platinum album, demonstrate longevity and become a household name of the world, I will gladly welcome her into my “Winners Circle”. Actually, I’m preparing for her induction ceremony because I think it’s a matter of time..lol but that’s just my two scents. State your thoughts droppers and check out her new video bellow.
Besides the cheesy cry from Michael J White I’m digging the whole concept, look and feel of the video.

King James vs Dan Gilbert: Majority Owner Loses Majority of Profits
Jul 9, 2010 Featured, Let's Talk About It: Discussion Board
LeBron James’ decision to take his fate in his own hands and move to Miami for a chance at a championship has seem to become an emotional epidemic. James, 25 voiced his decision Thursday, the 8th of July. He will join forces with Chris Bosh and the awesome Dwayne Wade. While his decision remains purely business , his hometown and franchise owner seems to have a different taste on his words. Dan Gilbert , majority owner of the franchise- the Cleveland Cavaliers, prior to LeBron’s decision seemed composed and respectful. After the decision was announced, Gilbert’s true colors came out when he stated:
“ This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his “decision” unlike anything ever “witnessed” in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.
The good news is that …your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.
You simply don’t deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.
“I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE””. The exact letter can be read at: http://www.nba.com/cavaliers/news/gilbert_letter_100708.html .
This statement summed up the total sentiment Gilbert truly felt about James. Ohio locals and their antics accompanied by the negative comments made just proves what has always been an underlying factor. Because this is a blog I can give my OPINION and not be apologetic about it. James’ decision proved hard for him and he had to do what was right for him. Emotionally speaking, no one loves leaving home. His family/ friends are in Ohio and there is where his career began. Gilbert feels betrayed? Yeah right. This all equates to money. The Dinero. Benjamins. Guap. Fetti. Broccoli. Euro. Franc. Comprende? Good. There is no loyalty in pro athleticism. Follow me for a bit. Lets take Carl Landry , formerly of my hometown team- THE HOUSTON ROCKETS. The poor fellow was blindsided by his trade. Whenever a franchise can acquire a seemingly better player or seat filler, a player is traded. If the player injures himself, he is traded. If he doesn’t fill those stadium seats companies had bid wars for in naming, he is traded; released early from his contract. So if a franchise can trade a under contract player whenever, why can’t a free agent choose his fate? Do you think Gilbert honestly felt betrayed? The only thing hurting is Gilbert’s checkbook. Now he can’t afford a Bugatti every two weeks. Boo Hoo. Why do you think companies have bid wars for naming playing facilities? MONEY. Every game played at their facility draws attention and money to their company. Where was the loyalty in endorsements for Tiger Woods? There was none. He didn’t cheat on his endorsements . Tiger cheated on his wife. Did that stop them from snatching some? Nope. Do you want to know why? If the companies Tiger represented continued to hold Tiger in esteem after his infidelity, they would lose more money. Women are America’s number one consumer. They buy for themselves, husbands, kids , family and friends. What they don’t buy, they get their husbands and boyfriends to. Everything equals money.
Gilbert released those statements because that’s how he felt about James in his heart. He tolerated James enough as long as he filled those seats at Cleveland Clinic Courts. People bought season ticket to see LeBron James play not the Cleveland Cavaliers. If the Cavaliers was such a grand team, why were they looking for one man to lead them. James carried the team. There was no Kobe and Gasol or Garnett and Pierce. Where was the Pippin for Cleveland’s Jordan? They didn’t attempt to find the Drexler for Olajuwan and Gilbert has the audacity to be mad?
Furthermore the so called fans who are now calling pro athletes thugs and low life’s undeserving of their money ; what about them? James plays ball because he loves the game and wants to have the ultimate payment- a championship ring. LeBron is taking a pay cut and splicing his limelight. He shares the center stage with Wade and Bosh. So his decision is purely business. Gilbert’s statement and fans antics are purely extensions of how corporate America and its ambassadors feel about the their puppets. How can the Cavaliers be mad? How did they acquire Shaq? Through a trade. Sleazy is as sleazy does and for the record, I wouldn’t want my child growing up to be a _________________ (insert name) like Gilbert. Is his display of professionalism is what we want to teach our children? Do we want them to think that it’s ok to cry like an infant girl when someone beats you at your own game or you do not get your way? Where is Gilbert’s manhood? If I had a child with him, I’d tell my seed that he/she was adopted. How is that for betrayal? BANG, BANG, BANG and POW!

Engaged: He Liked it, Put A Ring On it, So He Better Marry it!
Jul 7, 2010 Featured
The spark for this blog came from the wonderfully juice and drama filled show- Basketball Wives. I know, an odd source, but the show demonstrated the ideal concept of this blog, marriage. Because she and her situation illustrates my argument so well, the muse I will use is the cast member Gloria. Which leads me to my question. Is a marriage certificate an agreement of love or entitlement. If it is either/or, can it encompass the other?
On one episode cast member Gloria tells another cast member Royce she will never be wifey made. Hearing that statement made me analyze Gloria’s situation. She is the mother of three children and engaged to NBA player- Matt Barnes. She believes everyone is jealous of her because she has the ideal relationship. Not to mention she stands by her sister who was reported to have had and alleged affair with Shaq.
Revisiting the jealousy accusation carried by Gloria. Matt Barnes, NBA player and her fiance is a mediocre player. So the notion of the other women being jealous of their relationship maybe b a bit much but her believing they have the ideal family is where I really find flaw. I understand that all NBA players do not have Lebron and Kobe’s salary, but they have access to money, including Matt Barnes. So why are they engaged? If being pressed about having a lavish wedding is an issue, after having their second baby, I would think just signing the paper would be good enough. Personally, I think he is using her and she is just the current hotness. If something better comes along, he will leave her.
Until you say I do, you are a girlfriend with the promise of being a wife. This is why I feel that being engaged and being a wife are two totally different things and I observed that some women in general do not realize this. If you are committed, already playing house, why not go to the justice of the peace and sign on the dotted line?
For those who may not understand why people get engaged, from my experience people get engaged to set a date and plan the wedding and the aspects of combining their lives. If you are already in house, doing the laundry, sex on the regular and procreating, engaged seems to be a ‘gratification’ term. Saying I will marry you allows a person to remain ‘uncommitted’ while seeming committed. If one person decides to leave, the other would be left with only the memory and nothing else. (that beats the hell out of a prenuptial..lol)
I’ve actually entertained a conversation where a person argued that reaching a mutual agreement between the couple should be able to stand as marriage and of course I said no. It is my belief that signing the paper is an act of entitlement. Not just to money, but life itself. When a person place their name on that dotted line it means they will have a say in all the matters. On the contrary, if the paper is just a paper and it means absolutely nothing, why not sign it? Why not honor the person you love? What do you think….?

As a Black Berry fanatic, I’ve been sitting in the cut waiting for the first opportunity to lash out at these Iphone 4 users. Some may call me a hater others may say I’m just bitter but either way, I’m #teamBlackBerry to my dying day..lol. Now don’t get me wrong, I am also a huge supporter of Apple. I’m an owner of an Imac and macbook. Soon to be owner of an Ipad but when it comes to phones I prefer a device that keeps me on target with all of the latest technological advances while being easy to use. For example, as result of my genetics, my fat finger tips and motor skills are are not a good fit for touch screen phones. This is why I love my black berry bold. I am able to look cool while punching a good trusty touch pad..lol. An Iphone for me would cause nothing but sure headaches, however, the 4g internet speed, video chatting/editing and smaller size that uses less battery to allow multitasking sounds great.
