I am convinced my mind works like no other. Well, maybe there are a very select few of people that walk this green earth who, like me, think about life inside and out. They question the most believed theories and challenge the most talked about notions, ultimately to seek the truth to man kind’s very existence. Sometimes they can be the person that easily takes one sentence from a light careless conversation and transform it into a deep, thoughtful mind exercise; thus Becoming the reason all the people who were talking walk away thinking of the information shared in a whole different light.
If these people exist outside of me, they too, are loved dearly by those who really know them and despised by those who were introduced to their intellect before their heart. I would go out on a lim and say that this group of people are often misunderstood. Their passion to know more can be interpreted as intrusive, meddlesome questioning. Their natural tendency to ask why can be received as being doubtful. Their want and desire for more may be perceived as an unquenchable void.
Then there is their frustration that sometimes manifest as anger. Frustration that is a result of being misunderstood, or often having to defend their intentions. Frustration that lingers because there are questions in their world that they have yet to answer or find the answer too. This anger, if misguided and unattended to can make them appear crazy to some. Yes, the very popular word crazy that our society has given multiple meanings and contexts for its usage.
If these people are out there, they too have been called crazy a few times in their life span. Maybe they have been called crazy so much they have considered the thought of being ‘CRAZY’. If they haven’t… I have. In my consideration I even looked up the definition of crazy to see exactly if and how I measure up.
According to webster crazy |ˈkrāzē| informal
is an adjective and it means–
1 mentally deranged, esp. as manifested in a wild or aggressive way :
This definition tends to be the first one we but Crazy also means…
extremely annoyed or angry : the noise they made was driving me crazy.
applying this means at one point or another more then less of us have been in this state of crazy.
Crazy is also defined as
foolish : it was crazy to hope that good might come out of this mess.
I know many people can relate this to being in a relationship being extremely hopeful that some type of good exist in the connection you have with that person.
This definition also describes so many people I’ve encountered and great leaders I look up to.
2 (of an angle) appearing absurdly out of place or in an unlikely position : the monument leaned at a crazy angle.
• archaic (of a ship or building) full of cracks or flaws; unsound or shaky.
The most befitting all of definitions for me is—)
3 extremely enthusiastic : I’m crazy about Cindy | a football-crazy bunch of boys.
This is the crazy I am towards the pursuit of knowledge. This describes how I feel about chasing my dreams. This explains the hunger I have for wanting to learn more to share with others so they can know more. So I guess I am crazy..ha!
Furthermore, my research has encouraged me to embrace the crazy….to become one with the crazy…lol. For those who are reading this post and have been called crazy, deny it no more. If you are a great thinker like me, or very energetic person that thrives off a natural high, I say embrace the crazy. If you are one who refuses to be mistreated and find your self even defending others to save them from attack, I say embrace the crazy.
As we can see, all definitions of the word crazy aren’t used in a negative context. So the next time a person call you crazy, be slow to get offended, it might just be a compliment.
